Get to know me

Sound Healer,
Ceremonial Singer
& Medicine Musician…
Founder of Ayani Sanctuary

Sacred healing music was a thread — one that found me again when I needed it most.”

Since I was young, I felt the world deeply — the suffering of animals, the injustices around me, the heaviness of human pain. I could feel what others carried, even when unspoken. That sensitivity became a quiet promise: one day, I will serve humanity in a meaningful way.

This led me to study sociology, anthropology, philosophy, and communication — searching to deeply understand people, systems, cultures, and the root of suffering. My path unfolded into 8 years working in international humanitarian aid with refugees, and communities affected by war. Those years shaped my heart. But over time, I realized that while crisis relief saves lives, what heals the soul requires a different kind of medicine.

I was called toward a softer form of service — one that creates the opposite of chaos: beauty, harmony, and inner peace.

My journey into sound began through plant medicine ceremonies, where healing music and vibration awakened something ancient within me. My voice returned, naturally and unexpectedly. Guitar, rattles, drumming, and sacred chants became extensions of my being. This opened a path of study in sound therapy, shamanic traditions, Sufi devotional music, and voice alchemy, guided by teachers from different lineages and cultures.

Today, I merge indigenous wisdom with modern sound science, always with the intention to soften, to guide, and to hold. My work is a sonic womb, a tender, feminine, creative space where people can rest, release, and remember who they truly are…

My journey into sound and healing began with a personal transformation through medicine plant ceremonies, where I experienced music and vibration resonating through my entire being—guitar, rattles, and rhythmic drumming awakening something deep within me. This opening led me to find my voice naturally, singing healing chants and learning to play the guitar. Over time, shamanic drumming, shamanic flute playing, and healing chants became a natural extension of my practice.

I deepened my studies in sound therapy (with Naad Sound Therapy in Istanbul and Svaram in India) , shamanic traditions, and healing sacred music, voice alchemy, learning from masters around the world. My practice merges together the wisdom of ancient indigenous healing and the tools of modern sound science. Curious about my certifications, masters and trainings? I’ve written an in-depth blog about it.

At AYANI Sanctuary that I have founded, I share private sound therapy, group sound baths, community circles and ceremonies, medicine concerts... I also offer healing chants freely on Youtube/Insight Timer app, to make this work more accessible… What humbles me most is witnessing the shift in people’s eyes after a session — the light returning, the nervous system relaxing, the breath deepening, the heart expanding. It reminds me why I serve.

And every day, I am grateful to serve through sound: gently, soulfully, and with devotion.

About
Sound Healing:
A Simple Explanation

If you Google 'sound healing,' you'll find so many different explanations with a lot of technical jargons.
But I’m here to make it easy and simple for you to understand—and to give you a clear picture of what the experience is like.

Imagine you're feeling drained, overwhelmed, stressed, heavy, sweaty or just out of balance—by the end of the day, taking a shower instantly cleanses you physically, but it also refreshes your energy, as if you're washing away everything from the day. It’s like returning to your natural, pure, and clean self.

Sound Healing is exactly that. It’s like being showered with sounds, frequencies, vibrations, and melodies instead of water. It cleanses you—not just physically at a cellular level, but emotionally and energetically as well—restoring you back to your balanced, peaceful self.

Some people ask, ‘Will it really help after just one session?
Is it going to do anything?’

The answer is yes, just like a shower—no single day of showering is ever wasted. But the more you maintain good hygiene, the better you’ll feel, and the more you’ll avoid physical and emotional blockages, stress, diseases and imbalances. Sound healing works the same way: the more you experience it, the deeper the healing, the more aligned and energized you become (it becomes a healing and prevention method).

On a physical level, these vibrations cleanse you, remove blockages, and awaken dormant energy. They help release tension, balance your body, and clear any emotional weight. The sound of these instruments works to soothe your emotions, bringing a deep sense of peace, calm, and clarity.

It’s a complete cleansing of the mind, body, and soul. It’s not just a one-time thing—it’s a transformative experience that can leave you feeling lighter, brighter, blissful and more connected with your true self.

What’s great about sound healing is that it doesn’t require any specific age, physical ability (like yoga), or previous experience. It works for everyone, from children and adults to the elderly and even animals. It’s one of the most gentle yet effective forms of therapy.

Scientific speaking

If we accept that sound is vibration and we know that vibration touches every part of our physical being, then we understand that sound is heard not only through our ears but through every cell in our bodies. One reason sound heals on a physical level is because it so deeply touches and transforms us on the emotional and spiritual planes. Sound can redress imbalances on every level of physiologic functioning and can play a positive role in the treatment of virtually any medical disorder.”
— Dr. Mitchell Gaynor, director of Medical Oncology and Integrative Medicine, the Cornell Cancer Prevention Center in New York.

Quoting from the Sage Academy of Sound:
Sound Healing is a tool to transform our field and resonate to a higher frequency, using the law of resonance and matching our vibrational signature to the fundamental tone of the universe, the creative power of all that grows and all that breathes.

Our brain pulses and vibrates like everything in this Universe. The brain pulse is measured like sound in cycles per second or Hertz. Sound healing can bypass the clutter of our thoughts,  and the monkey jumping from branch to branch will quiet down. A still point can be created, and the brain waves can be entrained into a theta or delta "state of mind".

At this point, energies are merged, and the field can be harmonized to All That Is, restored with balance and well-being.In this range of brain waves, one can merge with the mass consciousness of our planet and beyond, thus making a link to the Source and tapping into the limitless power of who we REALLY are: Multidimensional beings.

My Journey
with Ceremonial Singing & Medicine Music

Medicine music is an intentional, practiced form of song used in indigenous and traditional healing systems , not decoration or background: it is a tool that shapes perception, modulates emotion, and guides embodied states.

Ethnographies of Amazonian curanderismo show that ícaros (medicine songs) function as therapeutic instruments in ritual settings, used to stabilize, direct and transform the participant’s experience.

Neuroscience and clinical reviews confirm what indigenous practitioners have long known: patterned sound and vocal tone reliably shift physiology and emotion (heart-rate variability, cortisol, neural networks), making music a direct lever on the nervous system. This is why music and chants can support focused healing processes rather than merely entertain.

My work is rooted in more than practice — it is trained, witnessed, and held with permission. Since 2020, I studied icaros sacred chants with Huni Kuin teachers and Amazonian practitioners, learning not just melodies but the relational aesthetics and practical function of these songs in ceremonial contexts. These songs changed my practice and life. Ethnographic research on Huni Kuin songs and studies of icaros show how such chants carry symbolic, sensory, and therapeutic force in ceremony.

In ceremony and gatherings I sing those medicine chants alongside guitar, shurti, chakapa, and shamanic drum; I also compose and sing my original medicine chants in Arabic and English. These songs are offered intentionally, as focused practice, and can be used in plant medicine contexts, ceremonies, retreats, public events, or private circles.

You can listen to my own recordings on this site under LISTEN.
If you bring medicine music into your circle or event, I bring trained practice, cultural respect (with permission to share the icaros I learned), and a commitment to the integrity and function of the songs, not to their commodification.
